A Long and Thankless Journey
It is difficult to describe the frenzied preparations we witnessed in the weeks preceding the much anticipated arrival of those who completed the "Hoka Hey Challenge". In case you didn't hear, the Hoka Hey was an extremely long fundraising motorcycle ride from the Florida Keys to Homer, Alaska . The winners arrived a few days ago and the road weary remainder are still trickling in. For more information and some of the worst writing ever published in a newspaper please click here. The Salty Dawg and several other bars were expecting a rush of epic proportions and hired extra help (like us) to appease the thirsty masses. Sadly, it was a paltry turnout due to the unfriendly 7000 mile ride. Uhhh, go figure. -B & NIncidentally, "hoka hey" is Lakota for "come now" not "it's a good day to die," which is the slogan that is being repeated, reprinted and regurgitated by all of the local media. Google it peeps, it's so easy.
oh geez.
